You will be on your way! Attending the seminar is only the first step. Once you have purchased the Lamaze Learning Guide (it's recommended to do so before attending the seminar so you are familiar with its content) and completed the seminar, you will receive a certificate and may call yourself “Lamaze trained”, but not certified. You will then be able to begin preparing for the Lamaze certification exam, which is offered twice a year. Once you have passed the exam, you will officially be a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator!

NYC Lamaze offers seminars once every two or three months.

Not currently. Since the end of the covid 19 pandemic, we returned to in person seminars where you will be able to socialize and interact on a much higher level, making the 3 day experience incredibly rich and more fulfilling than sitting and staring at your laptop or desktop screen for hours each day.

One of my favorite things in the world to do is to mentor novice educators. Once you have completed the 3 day seminar I will be available to you for support throughout your path leading to the exam. And once you’ve passed the exam, I will be there for guidance, counsel, and support as you launch your teaching career. Your cohort (your colleagues who attended the Lamaze seminar with you) will be encouraged to keep in touch as a group in order to encourage and inspire each other as you work your way towards Lamaze certification.
